I've often seen New Abbey Church, passing through the village on the way to the Solway coast, and hoped to have the chance to photograph a wedding here, so it was very exciting to finally have the opportunity. And as with all the country churches throughout Dumfries & Galloway it was a beautiful, bright church with fantastic light and character for photography. The black and white images from the church are among my favourites from the day - the crispness of the light is so endearing.
Both Hilary and Alasdair were fantastic to photograph - like many couples, they hinted they might be a little shy in front of the camera when we met before their wedding, but on the day, they were naturals and looked so comfortable and relaxed. We found some quiet time for photographs in Argrennan's beautiful walled garden - the setting, the light and the mood made for some lovely moments that I'm really pleased with.
Argrennan Manor House is a brand new wedding venue in D&G and what a jewell in the crown it is. A truly special place set in stunning grounds just bursting with photographic potential and a fantastic team of people running the show to boot.
